The Pilates Difference

"If practiced with consistency, Pilates improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance in the entire body. It puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improving coordination and balance."

Return to Life Through Controlology

Pilates attracts a wide-range of individuals whose goals are as diverse as the people who seek it out. Clients come from all corners of the world, ranging from professional athletes to the first-timer. Clients are often referred. Some come to us as friends of other clients and still others from their orthopedic specialists and chiropractors. Despite this broad appeal, very few people can describe what Pilates really is, and what it is not.

Pilates Foundations is an intimate, boutique studio, featuring four reformers, ladder barrel, high chair, low chair and mat. Beginning clients are encouraged to take part in a series of private lessons that give them a strong foundation from which to begin their practice. Moving forward, all students have a variety of options to pursue their fitness.

Group Classes are a maximum of four individuals with similar experience. These classes are 55 minutes in length and give a cost-effective alternative to private classes while still allowing for growth through coaching and individual attention. Placement in group classes is determined by the instructor and scheduled based on your convenience. Packages are purchased and priced based on quantity or can be subscribed to monthly.

Private / Duo instruction is the best way to see the results you are seeking. In a private setting, instruction can be tailored to meet your specific needs and goals. Whether you choose exclusively private instruction, or prefer to use these sessions as a "tune-up" for group classes, private instruction is a powerful catalyst for your personal goals.

About the Owner...

Lesley grew up in suburban Chicago. It was there that she discovered her love for dance. She continued to pursue her passion throughout her youth, winning a state championship in high school, dancing for Disney at the Festival of Lights parade and performing at half-time during the championship runs of the Chicago Bulls. She later pursued a career in dance at Columbia College. As is often the case, passion took a backseat to the responsibilities of real life and Lesley embarked on a twenty year career of training employees, opening new locations and maintaining standards in the restaurant industry. She is now a wife, mother and entrepreneur in Johns Creek, Georgia.

While possessing many talents, Lesley's greatest gift has always been her ability to connect with people. This gift has manifested itself throughout her life, but only through Pilates instruction has it been fully realized. Connecting with an individual's goals, passions and needs only accelerates their learning and uses Lesley's gift to its fullest.

Possessing a background in dance and musical theatre, Marissa has always loved movement. She was ecstatic to discover the importance that Pilates places on anatomy and physiology; her favorite sciences. Finding health and healing in an exercise system that promotes form and function, Marissa decided to share her successes with others through teaching.

Joseph Pilates said that everyone is the architect of their own happiness. Let Marissa help you design the blueprints.

Never thought we'd be here...

What started as a Christmas gift to newly pregnant wife, has become a whole new life. Lesley started, like everyone else, as a student of Jessica. Though she hadn't truly exercised since her time as a ballerina, her friendship with Jessica and the promise of the life growing within her inspired Lesley to grow with Pilates. It is with the greatest respect and honor that she now carries on the legacy of care left behind by her friend and mentor, Jessica Suh.
